The Weatherstone Crime Watch Committee is sponsoring the community's First Annual Spring Fling on Saturday May 3rd from 9am-1pm. The event will take place at the community amenities center and will have a variety of activities. Residences and local vendors have the opportunity to show off and sell their goods or services for a fee of $10. per 10x10 space. There are still several spots available and the committee will be taking those reservations up until the day before the event. "We have a jump castle for the children booked compliments of Happily Ever After, DJ services compliments of DJDANmusic.com, and many local area vendors and our own residences will be selling crafts, foods, snacks, and other wares. We encourage everyone in the community to join us!"

The proceeds from the space rentals will go toward the Crime Watch Committee's budget. The Committee has already posted many Crime Watch Zone signs throughout the neighborhood and has worked in conjunction with the property management company to monitor video cameras that have been installed in the amenities center to deter vandalism.

"Our hope is that the residences of Weatherstone will register an email or mailing address with the Committee at our booth during the event so that if something happens in the neighborhood that needs the community's attention we will be able to get the word out quickly. We are also looking forward to give everyone in the community our contact information so that if there are non-emergent concerns within the community they will have a way to express those concerns and will gain comfort knowing that any issues will be addressed by the Crime Watch Committee in conjunction with local Law Enforcement."

"It looks to be a fun filled day for our neighbors to get to know one another and bond. This event is what sidewalk-communities do... commune. We are looking forward to meeting our residences and having a great time!" For more information or to reserve a spot, please email weatherstonecrimewatch@yahoo.com or call 832-1200.
