Pinewood Preparatory School has received an unprecedented planned gift
totaling $1 million dollars. The gift is the first of its kind received by
Pinewood Preparatory School.
While many people ask themselves what type of legacy they will leave to
their children and their children's children, one Pinewood grandparent has
determined that being part of helping to build and enhance Pinewood
Preparatory School in Summerville will now be part of their legacy.
Pinewood Preparatory School headmaster Dr. Glyn Cowlishaw calls the gift "a
creative act of philanthropy and a major milestone for our school." He
further noted, "This donor has stepped forward to ensure that great
education is passed along to the next generation. The gift will help
guarantee excellence in facilities, enhance the resources available to our
students and bolster the school's programs."
The gift comes from an anonymous donor whose planned gift will support the
Pinewood athletic programs and facilities.
"The generosity of these donors will enable the school to build on its
reputation of excellence. One of our trademarks is our outstanding campus.
The commitment made by this remarkable family is a reflection of their
enduring passion for Pinewood." says Erin Bloxham, Director of Development
at Pinewood.
This incredible gift has launched Pinewood's planned giving program. The
Society of 1952, named for the year Pinewood was founded, honors
individuals who believe in providing a quality education for students
today, tomorrow, and for generations to come. Members of the Society of
1952 enable Pinewood to achieve its goals now and in the future.
"This $1 million donation underscores the connection between Pinewood and
its families. We are truly inspired by the commitment our grandparents have
to the school," says Dr. Cowlishaw. "This donor has shown that they are
willing to pay for quality. They are truly an inspiration to us all."
