The Summerville Family YMCA will offer two new summer camps this year, Fishing Camp and Hiking Camp. Each camp will be offered twice and will be one week long.

The Hiking Camp will include day-long hikes at Dungannon Plantation, Congaree Boardwalk, Caw Caw, Wannamaker Park and Table Rock. Children will be bused to each location and returned back to the Oakbrook branch of the YMCA. This camp is offered June 23-27 and July 28-August 1.

Fishing Camp will take children to various locations throughout the Lowcountry such as James Island County Park, Remley's Point, Colleton State Park, Givhans State Park and Hunting Island. The only requirement for children to attend the Y Fishing Camp is that they must have their own pole and license. Busing to and from each day's destination is included in the camp fee. This camp will be offered July 14-18 and August 4-8.

Both Camps are offered to boys and girls, ages 10-15. The fees are: $45 for Y Family members, $55 Y Youth members and $65 for non-members. Scholarships are available and registration is ongoing.

For more information about Hiking Camp or Fishing Camp, please contact the YMCA Sports Office at 821-1028.
