Chiropractic Physician

The majority of headaches are caused when the vertebra of the cervical spine becomes misaligned because of excessive or repetitive stress, including motor vehicle accidents, contact sports, postural habits, whiplash and occupational tasks.

Headaches are frequently caused by the compression of cervical nerve roots and prolonged tension of the neck muscles.

The most common cause of prolonged tension of the neck muscles is that brought about by a Forward Head Posture. Ideally, the head should sit directly on the neck and shoulders, like a golf ball sitting on a tee. Studies show that children spend more time in front of electronic screens than any other activity. Nearly four and one half hours per day among 2 to 14 year olds. This excessive postural stress can cause immediate symptoms and lead to conditions that may continue into their adult years.

Chiropractic relief of Headaches

Headaches have commonly been treated with aspirin or Tylenol, which may temporarily relieve the discomfort of the headache, but does little to correct the cause of the problem. Dr. Lee Kudrow, at the California Center for Headaches believes, the "Chronic use of aspirin actually promotes chronic tension headaches."

Chiropractors, experts in the structure of the spine and its protective relationship to the nervous system, detect and correct spinal misalignments by physically adjusting the spine to restore its proper structural position. This removes the spinal stress and allows the nervous system to function correctly.

Chiropractic treatment of the cervical spine can significantly improve headache outcomes.
