Eleven students from Ron Daniel's three Business and Personal Finance
classes at Summerville High School accepted the first-ever National
Financial Literacy Challenge promulgated by the newly-formed President's
Advisory Council on Financial Literacy in coordination with the
U.S. Treasury.
Whether heading to college or straight into the workforce, today's high
school graduates will face a robust marketplace of financial problems and
the products and services to help deal with them. To better navigate our
nation's financial systems, President Bush urges students to learn more
about budgeting and saving, using credit wisely, stock market investing,
avoiding fraud, and a number of other financial topics and consumer issues.
The challenge consisted of a voluntary, 35-question standardized online
exam taken by more than 46,000 high school students in rural areas,
suburbs, and cities across the country and in Department of Defense schools
around the world.
Mr. Daniel is pleased to announce the following students have earned
certificates of recognition from the U.S. Department of the Treasury:
Congratulations to these who accepted the
National Financial Literacy Challenge!
