Short Central is packed with artist on the third Thursday of each
month. Wine and cheese, as well as live entertainment, add to the
atmosphere as people get the chance to relax and do a little laid back
shopping.

There's a new "thing" that's been taking place, and its letting folks get a
good feeling for our small town flavor. Friends mingle with friends, and
make new ones (!) in historic downtown Summerville during the Third
Thursday Art Walks (part of DREAMfest 2008). The cobblestoned street of
Short Central Avenue (near Richardson & Central) is the setting for this
very eclectic gathering. Local artists, jewelers and potters are making it
a habit to come show us what they've created during the past month.
Tourists and locals alike have been making this an outing for the whole
family, with parents using the evening to introduce their children to the
art world in a fun way. The restaurants and shops on Short Central Avenue
are open late and the music makes the whole evening extra special. Art
Walk will be held every 3rd Thursday through September, and the next one is
July 17 from 5-8pm. Call Art Central Gallery for further information or to
apply for your own art booth space during July's Art Walk: 843-871-0297.
Location: Short Central Avenue.
