"Someone's Paradise II" by Helen K. Beacham (watercolor)
Two of our best Summerville artists, Susan Cato and Helen K. Beacham, are
teaming up and displaying their artwork at Crowfield Golf & Country Club
during the hot month of July! Susan works in oils, ...while Helen's
emphasis is on watercolor.
Susan Cato has been sharing her artwork with the public since 1996. Her
artistic instincts come naturally from her mother and grandmother, who also
painted in oils and drew in colored chalks and pencils. She enjoys the
fluidity, open time, and rich colors that oils provide.
Helen Beacham, on the other hand, loves the spontaneity and transparency
that watercolors provide her with. Acrylics are another water-based medium
that fascinates this artist. She says "Watch for my new, bright, bold
acrylics to pop up all over the place this year. I feel a breakthrough
coming!"
Susan & Helen have both exhibited in numerous fine art exhibits, art
festivals and juried competitions around the country, receiving numerous
awards along the way.
Ms. Cato is an exhibiting member of the McCormick Arts Council at the
Keturah, McCormick, SC; the Charleston Artist Guild, Charleston, SC; and
the Goose Creek, SC Artist Guild. She is a volunteer member and donor of
the Sculpture in the South Organization. Her artwork is represented at the
Fish or Cut Bait Gallery, Edisto Beach, SC; North Charleston, SC City
Gallery; Finishing Touch Framing Shop, Summerville, SC; and Spencer Art
Gallery II, Charleston, SC.
Ms. Beacham is the Vice President of the Charleston Artist Guild,
exhibiting her artwork at Summerville's Art Central Gallery, Charleston's
Courtyard Art Gallery and at the Charleston Artist Guild Gallery.
Their artwork will be displayed and for sale during the whole month of July
at Crowfield Golf & Country Club, 300 Hamlet Circle, Goose Creek, SC. For
