South Carolina School Boards Insurance Trust recognizes
Dorchester School District Two for safety program
Dorchester School District Two has been recognized by the South
Carolina School Boards Insurance Trust (SCSBIT) as a Risk Management Honor
Roll district for its comprehensive risk and safety efforts.
SCSBIT's Risk Control Services recognizes the importance of prevention
and annually rewards districts that implement effective safety programs
aimed at lowering the number of overall worker compensation claims.
To be eligible, honor roll districts must successfully complete
SCSBIT's Annual Premium and Risk Reduction (PARR) Program. Through PARR,
districts implementing effective prevention programs that meet annual
criteria are eligible to receive a five percent reduction in their Workers'
Compensation premium.
Dorchester School District Two has been a participant in the PARR
program since the inception of the program five years ago and was presented
with a Five Year Award at the annual SCSBIT Membership Meeting on May 15,
2008 in Columbia.
"Dorchester School District Two continues to do a tremendous job
implementing safety programs as a proactive approach to claims prevention
and risk management," said Risk Control Manager Heather L. Kinard, CPSI.
"The district's participation now and in the future will save money,
increase safety awareness and reduce claims. They are to be commended."
