The front porch at Manna House Christian bookstore beckons you
to come in and stay awhile. It is a gracious introduction to the
delights inside.

The children's section is thoroughly enjoyable. It was aptly
arranged to keep Lacy entertained for quite some time.

While books are abundant, gift items are available as well.

Just off Main Street , in Historic Summerville, is a little white
house, with a front porch that is ever so inviting. Whether you prefer
a sturdy rocker or a good solid porch swing, the Manna House Christian
Bookstore has just the place to take in the day. Inside though, you
will find something more than a bookstore.
Owner, Ann White, always wanted to own her own business and with her
daughter Lauren White, the store manager, she has made that dream come
true. In June of 2007, Ann purchased the business. The Manna House,
originally established in 1999, in Knightsville, was moved a little over
two years ago by the former owner to its quaint location on Magnolia
Street .
Within this charming cottage, you will find an array of gift ideas,
jewelry, toys, collectibles and more. There were some gorgeous little
fishhook tie tacks that would be perfect for Father's Day. There was
even a butterfly pin with the body of the butterfly in the shape of a
cross, a great gift for a teacher or coworker.
They have just started carrying a new product called a wooden blessing.
A local artist can duplicate any picture, saying, invitation, etc...
onto wood, glass or aluminum plaques. These were quite unique and a
great way to save your wedding invitations, graduation announcements or
any other special memory.
They had some of the neatest decorative signs with verses and
inspirational sayings displayed amongst the tops of shelves. These
would be perfect to display above doorways of your home or office. They
also have some fabulous bible scene prints that are sure to become the
focal point of any room. For those who need a reminder to feel safe and
secure as they sleep, they carry some beautiful stain glass
night-lights.
You can also find greeting cards for birthdays, seasonal holidays,
special days, get well and new arrivals. Along with wonderful t-shirts
for witnessing. One of my favorites said; Abreadcrumb & Fish,
resembling a popular clothing chain that is sure to catch your reader's
attention.
Manna House has an assortment of church supplies and resources. Tracts,
posters, Sunday school and vacation bible school materials are just a
few of many items.
There was an entire room dedicated to bibles, workbooks and study aides.
I believe you could find just about any size, style or type bible you
are looking for here. They even had one packaged as a study kit, a
great one for the new Christian or someone wanting to dig deeper. With
every bible purchase, you receive free personalization.
Reference books seem to appeal to every topic, age and gender. They
even have a used book section.
One room of the store is dedicated to children items, DVDs and music.
They have fictional children books, games and popular books to teach
about God. One of the neatest looking games, ``Armor of God,'' included
armor to put on, something any little boy would love. They also had
some neat toys and accessories. I loved the camouflage lunchbox that
had ``Army of One'' stamped across it.
Next to the CDs and soundtracks is a nice chair with headphones for
relaxing and sampling the music; a nice way to hear what you are looking
for.
The Manna House has all this and more. So stop in soon to discover more
than a bookstore.
