Katie Stagliano swam Backstroke for the Porpoises.
The Porpoises of Pine Forest Country Club took home a win on July 7Th
against the Dolphins of Wild Dunes. The team comprised of 5 to 18 year old
swimmers showed their strength winning all of the free relays for the
night. Other stand outs of the night were the boys 13-14 age group made up
of Carson Beasley, Brooks Bowen, James and Joe Rigoroso, Michael Tibbs and
Grant Wactor who for swam for first and second place in all events of the
night. Senior girls Brianne Jones, Ann Marie and Michaela Murtagh and Megan
Trevillian also took home wins in all events for the night.
Other stands out for the evening were Caroline Byrd and Christoper Miles
who swam backstroke for a first place finish in the 7-8 age group as did
Jack Hosey who took first in Butterfly and Breaststroke. Reeves Goettes
took first place ribbons in the Individual Medley and Breaststroke in 9-10
girls and was joined by Raymond Mennetti taking first in boys 9-10
Butterfly. The 11-12 age group did not disappoint by taking home wins in
the following: Bridgette Murtagh first in freestyle and second in Breast,
Breeanna Beasley first in Breaststroke, Katie Bosenberger first in
Individual Medley, Trey DiMuzio first in Butterfly, Backstroke and
Individual Medley, and Sloan Shelbourne first in Breaststroke and second in
Individual Medley. Kelly Bosenberger swam for firsts in Butterfly,
Breaststroke and Individual Medley in girls 13-14.
The Porpoises are coached by Rob Olsen, Brielle Weinstein and Nathan Long.
They look forward to two more meets during the regular season and then the
will advance to the Coastal Carolina Aquatic Association City Meet which
will be held on July 20 to July 22.
